In 2024, Robina Scott Kindergarten will deliver Free Kindergarten in line with the Victorian Government Best Start, Best Life reform.

This means free kindergarten for three year old children and four year old children for 15 hours a week. Where the program exceeds 15 hours per week, such as in the case of Red Group, families will have the choice to accept the additional three hours per week or opt into a 15 hour group. Where families accept the Red Group program, they will be expected to pay fees in line with the operating expenses for these additional hours.

Additional Information on Three Year Old Kindergarten

Children can only commence the program when they have turned three.

Children will not be eligible for a second year of funded 3-year-old kindergarten. After a child has completed a funded year of 3-year-old kindergarten they have the option to commence a funded year of 4-year-old kindergarten in the following year or delaying the commencement of their funded 4-year-old kindergarten.

Registration for three- and four-year-old kindergarten in Hobsons Bay can be lodged via the online parent portal called the Central Registration System (CRS). On the portal, you will be able to create your family profile and register your child(ren) from the age of one year for three-year-old kindergarten and from the age of two years for four-year-old kindergarten. CRS will also allow you to update your personal details and kindergarten preferences online at any time.

Registration for three and four year old kindergarten in Hobsons Bay is free.

So that you have your paperwork ready when registering, you will need the following supporting documents:

  • your child’s birth certificate or passport

  • evidence of residency or rate payer (if applicable)

  • evidence for Priority of Access criteria (if applicable).
